Circle Ten Council to Host Women in Leadership Luncheon Featuring Dr. Condoleezza Rice in Conversation with NBC 5’s Laura Harris
Inaugural event set for September 8 at The Fairmont Dallas, honoring Eagle Scouts Lois Alvar and Londyn Franklin and celebrating girls and women in leadership across Scouting America.
DALLAS, TX — Circle Ten Council, Scouting America, will host its inaugural Women in Leadership Luncheon on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at The Fairmont Dallas. The event will feature a moderated conversation with Dr. Condoleezza Rice, the 66th U.S. Secretary of State and former National Security Advisor, led by NBC 5 Dallas–Fort Worth anchor Laura Harris.
The inaugural luncheon will honor Eagle Scouts Lois Alvar and Londyn Franklin, two young women whose achievements exemplify the character, courage, and leadership that Scouting cultivates. Their recognition reflects Circle Ten Council’s commitment to celebrating girls in Scouting and creating visible pathways for young women to see themselves as the leaders they are already becoming. Scouting America serves girls and boys across every program, and this event is a celebration of what becomes possible when young women are given the tools, the community, and the space to lead.
The luncheon will bring together community leaders, business professionals, and Scouting families from across the region. Circle Ten Scout Tejasvi Manoj of Troop 261 in Plano, TIME Magazine’s 2025 Kid of the Year, will serve as emcee.
Dr. Condoleezza Rice served as the 66th U.S. Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009, the first Black woman to hold the position, and as National Security Advisor from 2001 to 2005. She is currently the Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution. A Pittsburgh native and classical pianist, Dr. Rice is widely recognized as one of the most influential leaders of her generation.
