Leading the Way: Khrystian Jones

The Scouting experience is more than just a program — it’s a powerful framework for shaping character, developing leaders, and creating meaningful change in the lives of youth. Elm Fork’s Senior District Executive, Khrystian Jones dives into what makes Scouting important for his life.

This Is My Why: Where Leaders Are Made

Why do you work for Circle Ten Council?

I work for Circle Ten Council because we’re the best at delivering a quality Scouting experience for our youth. We go above and beyond other councils to achieve our goals and make the Scouting vision a reality.

Why do you believe in Scouting?

I believe in Scouting because I’ve seen its impact in my own life. As a Scout, I had the chance to grow and exercise leadership, gain exposure to new skills and adventures, and experience a greater sense of fellowship with my friends.

Why is Scouting important for the youth of today?

Scouting is important because — other than religion— few institutions actively focus on teaching character, citizenship and leadership. These are the foundational qualities that today’s youth need to build a greater future.

What impact have you seen—or personally experienced—through Scouting?

While in Scouting, I’ve had the privilege to see youth grow from shy and hesitant public speakers to vocal and driven leaders within their troops and district or council-level projects. Witnessing that kind of transformation is incredibly rewarding.
