Why do you work for Circle Ten Council?
I work for Circle Ten because I believe in what we do. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of an organization that helps kids grow into confident, capable, and kind adults.
Why do you believe in Scouting?
Because Scouting works. It teaches real-life skills, builds confidence, and helps young people figure out who they are and what they stand for. It’s more than just camping and badges — it’s about growing into someone who makes good choices and helps others.
Why is Scouting important for the youth of today?
Kids today face a lot: constant screen time, academic pressure, social media, and not enough time outdoors or with positive mentors.
Scouting gives them a chance to unplug, try new things, build friendships, and learn what it means to be a leader and a good person. It offers them a space to just be kids — while still learning the lessons that will carry them through life.
What impact have you seen—or personally experienced—through Scouting?
As a District Assistant, I don’t work directly with youth, but I still see the impact of Scouting every day. It shows up in the little things.
And paperwork can tell you a lot:
- The excitement of new kids signing up at School Night for Scouting
- The dedication from Unit Leaders when we call about new families
- The pride shown in awards earned and recorded
- The support of our mission in the donations we receive
Even behind the scenes, it’s clear: Scouting makes a difference. It’s rewarding to know that my work is one part of a larger whole — a movement that’s helping shape young lives for the better. And I’m proud to be part of that mission.
